For quite some time, Florida childcare providers have struggled to make ends meet. This is primarily because child care workers have lower incomes than 98% of any other profession. This difference in salaries has posed a concern for many providers. It has made it much harder for them to support their own households, causing food insecurities for several workers and their families. Florida has thankfully received emergency funding to compensate for this issue, but there is still more support that can be provided. Continued donations and advocacy is a start, and with time, we hope to see an increase in wages.
