The Upsetting Effects of Unaffordable Infant Goods

While childcare expenses have always seemed high, the start of the 2020's marked a noticeable decrease in affordability. In fact, a 2023 article on diaper expenses exposed the drastic measures that many lower income households were forced to take. Some parents would change diapers less often as a way to save money, which would put their babies at an increased risk of many health issues/infections. On the flip side, some families would abstain from buying necessities in order to meet the cost. This posed a very risky decision for low income households—a decision that many households still have to make today.
